Duma - January 2011

The day of Duma's big move finally came on 27th November! It was a very exciting day for us all at N/a'an ku se as we couldn't wait to see this beautiful leopard roam in the wide open space she deserves.

All the staff and volunteers gathered eagerly as Cila and Rudie got together the necessary darting equipment to temporarily put Duma asleep so that we could remove her from her current camp.

She was out for a miimal amount of time before being moved into her brand new 1.5 hectare camp.

Duma had been staying in a small enclosure for a while and relished her new found freedom and we were so proud to see her take her first steps in her new territory. She seems to have adapted well and is enjoying her new space.

Her camp is next to Shakira and Ombeli's new camp so hopefully she'll be able to teach them how to become big adult leopards - watch and learn kids!
